Lion’s HeartLawn Care

Tree removal for dead, damaged and unwanted trees.

When a tree is dead, leaning, storm-damaged or just in the wrong spot, we take it down in sections, cut up the wood and clean up the yard afterward.

When a tree should come out

Dead trees, trees with big splits or hollow trunks, trees leaning toward the house, and trees rubbing a foundation or roof are the usual reasons. So are volunteer trees that came up in a fence line and are now pushing the fence over. Ash trees killed by emerald ash borer are showing up around the Kansas City area too. Once an ash is dead, it gets brittle fast and should come down before it falls.

How we do it

We look at the tree, the space around it and what it could land on before we give you a price. Trees with room to fall can be felled. Trees near buildings come down in sections. The trunk can be cut into firewood lengths and left for you, or hauled away.

After the tree is gone

We rake out the work area and leave the lawn ready to mow. If you want the spot seeded or a new tree planted, our friends at Oak Creek Nursery and Landscape can help pick the right tree for the space.

Common questions

Do you grind stumps?

Ask when you call. We'll tell you what we can do and point you to a grinder if we can't.

Can you take down a tree near my house?

Often, yes, by taking it down in sections. Trees touching power lines need the utility first. We'll look at it and tell you honestly.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree?

Usually not on private residential property in this area, but HOAs sometimes have rules. Check with your HOA first if you have one.
