Why the leaves can't just stay
A thick layer of wet leaves blocks light from the grass right when fescue is trying to recover from summer. By spring you end up with thin, matted patches and a lot more weeds. Clearing them in the fall is one of the easiest things you can do for next year's lawn.
What a fall cleanup covers
We clear the lawn, pull leaves out of flower beds and from behind shrubs, blow off sidewalks, driveways and patios, and clean out the corners and fence lines where leaves pile up. Big properties with mature trees, like a lot of the older neighborhoods in Leavenworth, usually need two or three visits as the trees drop. Let us know if you want gutter cleaning on the same visit.
Spring cleanups
Before the first mow of the year, we do spring cleanups: clearing what blew in over winter, cutting back ornamental grasses and perennials and pruning shrubs before the rainy season starts. It sets up the whole mowing season.
